The Student Story You Didn’t See: Behind the Chaipattana × Chula Fair 2025

Earlier this year, CSII and Chulalongkorn University signed an MOU with the Chaipattana Foundation - and soon after, we shared how our students were rolling up their sleeves to prepare for the Chaipattana × Chula Fair 2025. Months of hard work, late nights, and nonstop problem-solving later, it all came together. The result? A two-day fair that was entirely driven by our students. At CSII we couldn’t be prouder of their resilience, teamwork, and vision in pulling off something on this scale. So, here’s the story in their own words...

What It Really Took to Make It Happen

Written by: Tanatcha Achcha (6758043856)

The Chaipattana × Chula Fair 2025 was two days of creativity, chaos, community, and collaboration - and somehow, it all came together. Through workshops, booths, and stage shows, the fair gave people meaningful experiences. Even though it rained on both days, it was still an unforgettable journey.

For most of us, this was the first time organizing something on such a big scale. It was a steep learning curve of sleepless nights, unexpected problems, last-minute changes, and stress on top of stress. But it was also full of moments where we surprised ourselves.

As our project director said,

“Everyone trusted each other and gave their best. We built good chemistry within the team, and that was what kept us moving forward.”

The workshops exceeded every expectation. Lots of people joined, and the feedback was overwhelmingly positive. The booths turned a profit, and the team kept programs running smoothly even as they reworked the agenda multiple times. We were terrified the rain would ruin everything, but instead, it forced us to adapt and support each other in ways that made the event even more memorable.

Every team had their own struggles and wins...

The Art team worked side by side with juniors and pulled off photospots that ended up being photographed by many visitors.

The Sponsor team had to deal with tough negotiations, but stayed professional and managed to bring in partners like ThaiBev, Central Pattana, and PTT.

The Treasurer team worked fast and with so much detail that it made life easier for everyone else.

The Welfare team took care of what felt like endless logistics, meals, guest speakers, small details no one else thought of, and somehow made sure nothing slipped through the cracks.

The Creative team had to rework the key visuals over and over again until it was finally approved.

The Workshop team exceeded their KPIs and even ran out of materials earlier than expected because of the overwhelming turnout.

The Stage team planned down to the smallest detail, and even with constant changes, kept the entire program running smoothly from start to finish.

Behind the scenes, the Coordinator team was handling a brutal schedule, managing artists, and making sure VIPs were on time.

The Event Planner team had to rewrite the agenda again and again. On the day of the fair, they were still out there in the rain holding umbrellas for the MC and keeping the flow of the event on track.

The Booth and Location teams had to improvise when vendors were short on staff, even sending people to walk around and sell, so nothing went to waste.

The Visual Light and Sound team always managed to find solutions - whether it was securing the right equipment at the right price, or keeping documents and deadlines perfectly aligned.

The Souvenir team mapped the charms hunt and handled distribution on the fly.

The Exhibition team pushed through tight timelines and the unfortunate weather.

Not Just a Fair, But a Journey

We were especially fortunate to have the guidance of the Dhospaak Team, with our P’P’ mentors supporting us every step of the way from beginning to end. And when the rain caused leaks on stage and tripped the electricity, people jumped in without hesitation, solving problems on the spot and keeping things moving.

Of course, it wasn’t all perfect. We had leftover souvenirs, budget delays, and a few team members missing in action. Day 2, a lot of us got sick and powered through anyway. Rain leaked onto equipment, people ran with umbrellas for the MC, and more than once someone said, “never again in the rainy season.” But all of this became part of the story.

What did we gain from it? Far more than just an event. We learned to manage resources and people, stay calm when things fell apart, and fix problems on the spot. Along the way, we handled sponsors, designed posters, and reworked last-minute agendas. Most importantly, we learned to rely on each other - building stronger friendships and deeper trust.

In the end, the fair wasn’t “successful” just because Gen Z walked away more aware of the Chaipattana Foundation, the workshops sold out, or the booths made a profit. It was successful because we proved to ourselves that with trust, teamwork, and commitment, we could actually pull off something this big. We are exhausted, but proud.

As one teammate put it:

“It wasn’t easy, but we managed. After all the sleepless nights and stress, it finally came to life — and that’s something we’ll never forget.”

A Proud Moment

Reading the students’ reflections, it’s clear that what the audience saw on stage and around the fairgrounds was only half the story. Behind the scenes were months of planning, countless small details, and teams of students pushing through challenges together. The Chaipattana × Chula Fair 2025 wasn’t just an event - it was proof of what passion, persistence, and collaboration can create. And for us at CSII, it’s a powerful reminder of how much our students grow when they take on real-world challenges head-on.

Very well done 👏🏼
