Royal Thai Government Gazette Officially Announces CSII as a Full-Fledged Chula Faculty

The Gazette of the Royal Thai Government has formally announced that the Chulalongkorn School of Integrated Innovation (CSII) is now a full-fledged autonomous faculty-level unit within Chulalongkorn University. The Gazette notification was issued on July 10, 2023.

According to the notification, the decision was made by the Chulalongkorn University Council during its 474th meeting held on April 27, 2023. The notification, issued by Professor Pirom Kamolrattanakul, President of the Chulalongkorn University Council, states that CSII is responsible for education, research, student development, student affairs, and academic affairs in science and related disciplines. Additionally, CSII is entrusted with the preservation of arts and culture as well as other assigned duties.

Professor Worsak Kanok-Nukulchai, Executive Director of CSII, described this development as a “landmark day.” He acknowledged the tireless dedication, hard work, patience, and understanding of everyone involved despite the challenging working environment and numerous constraints faced, especially during the early years. Prof. Worsak expressed gratitude to all for their perseverance and commitment, which have seen CSII through those challenging times and brought the School to this significant milestone. He stated that the School will continue working collaboratively towards the goal of building a unique CSII culture that distinguishes itself from traditional working styles in Thai universities. This culture will reflect shared values of innovation and progress, added Prof. Worsak.

The Chulalongkorn University Council made the decision on October 25, 2018 to establish the Chulalongkorn School of Integrated Innovation as a project. The school was officially inaugurated in August 2019, and the first cohort of students was admitted into its four-year Bachelor of Arts and Science in Integrated Innovation (BAScii) program. The inaugural batch of students have now completed their studies and will graduate at the Chulalongkorn Commencement Ceremony in October 2023.
