Seven students from the Chulalongkorn School of Integrated Innovation (ScII) who are currently enrolled in the StartUp Semester at the Sutardja Center for Entrepreneurship & Technology (SCET), University of California Berkeley have been featured on its website and in a video produced by SCET.
These ScII students are the first to participate in the Semester Abroad program, which is mandatory for all students enrolled in the Bachelor of Arts and Science in Integrated Innovation (BAScii). Showcased as “Global Student Profiles,” ScII students featured in the video are Bhira Songsaeng, Mill Thirapatarapong, Ploychat Meeprasertskul, Prim Hutchesson, Sudev Bhatia, Thanathep Preedawiphat, and Wachirawit Siridachanon.
The SCET StartUp Semester offers students an opportunity to experience a rich innovation environment, develop their startup ideas, and connect with industry experts and mentors.
The ScII students currently at Berkeley are working on their startup ventures. Bhira is working on a startup whose goal is to up-cycle used coffee grounds into self-care products. Mill and Prim have founded PUMP, which uses influencer marketing to reduce the cost of marketing for small businesses. In addition, Prim owns an online bakery. Sudev Sudev is the co-founder of BioCafe, and he is also taking part in the University of Oxford’s “ Map the System ” contest. Ploychat’;s startup is NeuTech that integrates EEG, a non-invasive technique of monitoring real-time brain activity, to develop a new system to detect the severity of Major Depressive Disorder (MDD) symptoms. Thanathep explores different career paths via startup internships and social projects while also working with his team on product development for his startup idea. Wachirawit’s startup, which was also featured in the Bangkok Post, uses teleconsultation to connect pet owners with veterinarians for real-time consultations and checkups.
ScII and SCET share a partnership that enables ScII students to pursue a semester abroad program at Berkeley and collaborate with Silicon Valley pioneers. Dr. David Law, Director of Global Academic and Startup Programs, and Ms. Susan Giesecke, Director of Global Engagement, visited ScII in March 2022, when SCET shared its experience and welcomed ScII’s move to engage with SCET’s flagship programs.
