The Chulalongkorn School of Integrated Innovation (ScII) was established as a speedboat project to swiftly propel itself to the forefront of innovation studies. By launching the four-year Bachelor of Arts and Science in Integrated Innovation (BAScii), the school created a genuinely international program and become a top-class school that offers an integrated innovation program capable of propelling the startup economy.
This aim was restated by Professor Bundhit Eua-arporn, President of Chulalongkorn University, who welcomed a delegation from the Thai-Nichi International College (TNIC) on October 6, 2022.
Professor Worsak Kanok-Nukulchai, Executive Director, ScII, commented that the school’s launch represented a bold initiative by Chulalongkorn University. As Prof Worsak noted: “We are pleased that the Thai-Nichi International College is visiting us, and we wholeheartedly support your competency-based learning concept.” Prof. Worsak highlighted ScII’s unique curriculum design, adding that the school would be happy to share its experience with TNIC. ScII Executive Director stated that the school had adopted the sandbox approach to create a unique ecosystem. Likewise, given the commonality of approach, Prof. Worsak favored the idea of ScII partnering with Thai-Nichi International College.
Assistant Professor Wipawadee Wongsuwan, Dean of the Thai-Nichi International College, spoke about the origin of Thai-Nichi International College. Dr. Wipawadee noted that one of the College’s strongest assets was the over 70 agreements and partnerships it has with various universities and institutes in Japan. Currently, the international college offers four Bachelor’s programs, including Digital Engineering, Data Science and AI, International Business and Entrepreneurship, and Japanese for International Business.
The visiting delegation consisted of Dr. Jakkrit Siririn of the Technology Promotion Association (Thailand-Japan), Assistant Professor Wipawadee Wongsuwan, Associate Professor Pisut Pongchairerks, Assistant Professor Ferdin Joe John Joseph, Dr. Pikul Vejjanugraha, and Assistant Professor Rachata Rungtrakulchai.
