Bangkok, 7 January 2026 - Chulalongkorn School of Integrated Innovation (CSII) has officially received the ISO 56001:2024 Innovation Management System Certification, marking a significant institutional achievement for Chulalongkorn University at the start of the new year. The certification ceremony took place at CSII and with the University leadership, members of the CSII School Board, deans from across the University, distinguished guests, faculty, staff, students, and partners in attendance.

Presiding over the ceremony, Prof. Wilert Puriwat, D.Phill (Oxon), President of Chulalongkorn University, described the certification as a moment of pride for the entire institution.
“This achievement is something the University is truly proud of. It serves as a meaningful New Year gift that demonstrates Chulalongkorn University’s readiness to meet international standards,” he remarked.

The First of Its Kind in Education
CSII is recognized as the first educational institution to be certified under the ISO 56001:2024 Innovation Management System in Asia, building on its initial innovation management certification received at the time of the School’s establishment in 2019. The 2024 certification confirms that CSII has not only sustained its standards, but has also strengthened and evolved its innovation management practices as the School has grown.
Professor Suchada Sukrong, CSII Executive Director, emphasized that the certification reflects how the School embeds innovation into the School’s daily operations and educational philosophy.
“For CSII, ISO 56001 is not about documentation alone. It reflects how we work, how we learn, and how we grow together. Most importantly, it recognizes the way our students, faculty, and staff manage real innovation in real-world contexts,” she said.

Beyond the Certification
A key factor behind the certification is CSII’s strong focus on student-led startup and innovation projects, particularly through BAScii Program (Bachelor of Arts and Science in Integrated Innovation). BAScii requires BAScii students to go beyond theoretical learning by developing real ventures, registering companies, collaborating with industry partners, and testing their ideas in actual markets. Managing innovation at this scale requires clear and robust systems for ideation, mentoring, learning from failure, and commercialization - core elements assessed under the ISO 56001 framework.
The certification audit and approval were conducted by the Management System Certification Institute (Thailand), MASCI. Mr. Jongrak Rojpalasatean, President of MASCI, joined the ceremony, representing the institute responsible for the rigorous assessment and approval of the certification. His presence therefore reaffirmed the credibility of the certification process. It also highlighted the significance of this recognition at both institutional and national levels.

CSII also highlighted the role of its growing alumni community as evidence of the long-term impact of its innovation-driven education. Graduates of the School are now startup founders, innovation professionals, and contributors to family businesses and emerging industries, reflecting how CSII cultivates innovation as a professional practice rather than an abstract concept.
The ISO 56001:2024 certification stands as a shared achievement for CSII and Chulalongkorn University, reinforcing the University’s position as a leader in innovation-oriented education. It also signals CSII’s continued commitment to developing innovation systems that are sustainable, accountable, and capable of creating meaningful impact for society.

This milestone marks only the beginning.
