What can a dessert pop-up do? For one BAScii student, the answer was simple—change lives.
Earlier this year, Patcharamon Chantravisutlert, a first-year BAScii student at Chulalongkorn School of Integrated Innovation (CSII), joined forces with her younger sister to launch “The Honey Bee’s Story,” a dessert pop-up shop with a mission. But this wasn’t your average bake sale - it was a heartfelt campaign to restore the gift of sight.

Their initiative was part of “30 Years of Light,” a campaign led by the People’s Eye Care Foundation, dedicated to bringing free cataract surgeries to patients in rural Thailand. In just a short time, their efforts raised an astounding 240,500 THB - making it the largest youth-led contribution to the campaign to date.
The inspiration? A desire to make empathy actionable. Instead of waiting for the “right time” to give back, Patcharamon and her sister baked it into their daily lives - quite literally.
💬 "Their project is proof that young people aren’t just future changemakers - they’re already making change,” said Dr. Dolpiwat Preedavipart, of the People’s Eye Care Foundation, who praised the sisters for their creativity and courage. “They are a shining example of what happens when passion meets purpose.”

A Vision for Thailand
Since its founding in 1994, the People’s Eye Care Foundation has helped restore vision to over 47,000 patients through free mobile surgery missions, including free cataract surgeries for patients in rural Thailand. This year, their goal is to raise 9 million THB to bring sight to 1,000 more. Thanks to Patcharamon’s initiative, they’re already closer.
Empathy as Innovation
At CSII, we often speak of innovation as a mindset—and here, Patcharamon shows us that we can 'bake' innovation into anything. Whether it's a pitch deck or a pastry box, BAScii students are encouraged to create value for society, and her work is a testament to that vision.
Because in the end, what could be sweeter than using your skills to help someone see the world more clearly?
