BAScii students are at it again... This time they have claimed first place at the Y-Lead Well-being Creators 2025, a national competition focused on youth-led solutions for well-being challenges. Competing against university teams from across Thailand, Chatchamethi Kodmongkol and Chanita Pojanalai (team name: “Noo Suay Mai Ka”) stood out for their innovative use of technology to address children’s mental and emotional well-being - earning the Well-being Innovation Award champion trophy on a national stage.
FAYA: Family AI for Your Awareness
The winning project, FAYA (Family AI for Your Awareness), is an AI-enabled smartwatch concept designed to support children aged 3–12. The device focuses on early detection of stress and emotional changes, offering real-time activities to help children regulate their emotions while providing parents with clear, privacy-conscious insights into their child’s well-being. The system also summarizes emotional patterns over time, helping parents better understand their child’s mental state without constant monitoring or intrusion. The team designed it for everyday use, both at home and in school settings.
By combining AI technology with child-centered design, the project aims to strengthen emotional intelligence, social skills, and family awareness - all while respecting children’s data privacy.
Competition Outcomes and National Recognition
The Amazing Thailand Fast & Fierce Festival 2025 hosted the Y-Lead Well-being Creators 2025 to bring together young innovators to develop social business ideas with real-world impact. Projects were evaluated on creativity, feasibility, social relevance, and long-term impact. As a result, FAYA impressed the judges with its strong balance of technology, social impact, and practical application, demonstrating how innovation can meaningfully support families and child development.
BAScii in Action: Innovation with Real-World Impact
This Well-being Innovation Award reflects the core focus of CSII and BAScii program - interdisciplinary learning, innovation-driven thinking, and applying knowledge beyond the classroom. Moreover, BAScii actively encourages students to explore real societal challenges, work across disciplines, and develop solutions that create measurable impact. From ideation to execution, the competition experience showcases how BAScii students turn classroom learning into nationally recognized innovation.
