On August 16, 2025, Chulalongkorn School of Integrated Innovation (CSII), together with the Thai Beijing Business People Association (TBJCC) and Yunnan Open University, hosted the China–Thailand 50th Anniversary Cultural Exchange Event in Bangkok. The gathering celebrated 50 years of diplomatic relations between China and Thailand. It highlighted the enduring exchanges of ideas, traditions, and human connections that have shaped this friendship.

From August 16 to 18, CSII became a vibrant stage for cultural expression. In particular, the highlight was the “Ink & Color of Friendship” Chinese Calligraphy and Painting Exhibition, which featured nearly one hundred masterpieces from Yunnan province. In addition, two initiatives were launched alongside the exhibition: China–Thailand Cultural Exchange Center and “One Tambon, One Product (OTOP): Thailand into Colorful Yunnan” project.

The opening ceremony of the China–Thailand 50th Anniversary Cultural Exchange Event was honored by the presence of distinguished guests. Among them was Ms. Xu Lan, Education Counsellor at the Embassy of the People’s Republic of China in Thailand. Prof. Yang Lihong, Vice President of Yunnan Open University, introduced the exhibition and shared its significance. The event also welcomed Mr. Luo Tieying, Chairman of the Thai-Chinese Teachers Association, and Mr. Yao Huaxing, Chairman of the Beijing Business People Association Thailand. Representing CSII, Prof. Suchada Sukrong, Executive Director, delivered the welcome remarks. Their presence underscored the cultural and educational significance of the event and the spirit of cooperation.
A Meeting of Minds and Cultures
The Yunnan Open University delegation received a warm welcome at Chulalongkorn University. As part of their visit, CSII organized a campus tour followed by roundtable discussions with representatives from other CU faculties and Thai universities.
Moreover, adding to the significance of the occasion, diplomats from the Chinese Embassy in Thailand joined the celebration. Their presence underscored the importance of the event at a national level, fostering an even closer bond between the two countries and reaffirming the deep trust and goodwill that have sustained China–Thailand relations for five decades.

For CSII, the event reflected its mission since its founding in 2019 - to stand at the intersection of technology, entrepreneurship, and global engagement. As a hub for interdisciplinary collaboration, CSII has continually worked to connect Thailand with international partners. This cultural exchange further strengthens bridges between people and ideas, ensuring that education and culture advance together.

Laying the Foundation for the Next 50 Years
As China and Thailand marked fifty years of diplomatic ties, the event reflected on the past while also looking to the future. Their formal partnership has grown over time into a multifaceted friendship. Today, that bond continues to expand through art, education, and entrepreneurship.
As a result, with distinguished guests, scholars, and diplomats present, CSII was honored to contribute to this new chapter of China–Thailand friendship.
United by culture. Painted with friendship.
